During the setup process, 2 things happen:
1. The Garage Door Controller will get your home wifi name and password.
2. The serial number of the GDC is saved in your app (iPhone or Android).
I believe, the first part was completed successfully, but the second part was not completed. I would suggest that you start from scratch again. Press the reset button of your GDC twice to factory-reset your GDC. Then in the app, select the setup process.adminKeymasterThis may happen when the wifi signal is weak in your garage. You may try to re-position your router to get better signal in the garage. Another possibility is the router itself. Your router may be operating at capacity. Any extra load will make the router to disconnect some of the devices. This may be fixed by upgrading your router. If your router is good, you may check the signal from your ISP. If the the signal from your ISP is noisy, you may experience frequent disconnects from your devices. To fix this, you may phone your ISP help line to investigate. If none of these helps, then post your question again.
adminKeymasterSorry for my late response. Did you verify your set up on your desk? The best way to verify your setup is to check if your app can detect open-close status by covering the sensor and opening it. After a successful setup, the GDC should remember the settings in non-volatile memory. When you tried to connect to wifiGDC but could not connect to it, I saw that happening in some Samsung phones. I believe these phones try not to connect to wifis that do not have internet connections. In that situation, try to perform a power cycle on the phone to make it forget that wifiGDC does not have internet connection. If it still does not work, please post again.
adminKeymasterThank you for your question. The sensor consists of an emitter and a receiver. The receiver senses an object when it sees a reflected light from the emitter. If the door status is open all the time, the sensor may see a light of the right wavelength all the time. Please check if there is a light source shining directly to the sensor and make adjustment. Another possibility is that the sensor may be too sensitive. You may make adjustment by turning the potentiometer inside the device. A Youtube video is available for instructions (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3Li128GBlM). The sensor should detect an object when the object is closer than 2 inches.
adminKeymasterYou may install the app and configure it to work with your GDC on as many phones as you like.
